This weekend in Vegas it’s all about braving the heat to experience a slew of fun activities from a patio party at RHUMBAR at the Mirage to a Friday night movie under the stars at Lake Las Vegas. When it comes to entertainment, comedy fans are in luck. Jerry Seinfeld, Gilbert Gottfried and Bill Engvall are all headlining. It’s sure to be another wild weekend in Vegas.
Guests at the Springs Preserve can explore the mysteries of the Mojave’s most amazing creatures with two new live indoor shows. The shows feature some of the desert’s most fascinating and somewhat freaky creatures including the desert tarantula, bark scorpion and centipede. The shows are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily from Aug. 18 – Sept. 5 and at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sat.- Sun. from Sept. 10 – 25.
Every Friday night through Sept. 23 Ravella at Lake Las Vegas hosts outdoor movies in their pool area or in The Village at Lake Las Vegas. On Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. guests can enjoy the warm summer night and a showing of the Disney animated feature “Lilo & Stitch” at the Ravella pool. This event is free.
Throughout the summer RHUMBAR, the stylish cocktail and cigar lounge at the Mirage, is hosting a daytime party every Friday and Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. Daytime revelers can hang out on the patio and enjoy views of the Las Vegas Strip as DJs Larry Lynx and Enrie take over the sound system, spinning a mix of contemporary hits. Happy hour specials are available from noon to 5 p.m. and include $5 Stoli and rum punch cocktails and 16-ounce Miller Lite and Sam Adams beer.
Stripburger at the Fashion Show mall is hosting its “Party on the Patio” on Sunday, August 21 from 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. Guests can enjoy music, Stripburger favorites at the tasty buffet and featured drinks including Coors Light, Mike’s Hard Lemonade and Ketel One concoctions. Cost is $25 in advance; $30 at the door.
Rev Run kicks it old school with DJ Ruckus on Aug. 19, for Clash, the weekly party every Friday night at Rain at the Palms. Doors open at 10 p.m.
Rapper Yelawolf treats revelers to a special performance on Aug. 19 at Jet at the Mirage. Doors open at 10:30 p.m.
Hip hop legends Public Enemy perform at Tao at the Venetian on Aug. 18. Doors open at 10 p.m.
Santana’s Andy Vargas presents “Love Hangover,” a Sunday after-hours poolside party at the Artisan hotel Aug. 21. Featuring world renowned DJs, vocalists and musicians, Love Hangover is a mix of people, music and culture. The party runs from 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.
Calling all divas and rock star hopefuls. McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon at the Rio is getting partiers through the
dog days of summer with a little karaoke. On Aug. 19 the Irish bar will be home to the hit karaoke band Venus Rising. Partiers can belt out their favorite karaoke hits backed by a live band. To top it off the bar is offering various drink specials including $4 Jameson and Ambhar shots and $5 cherry and grape bombs.
On Aug. 19 guest DJs the EC Twins get the party started at Marquee at the Cosmopolitan. Doors open at 9:30 p.m.
French for the dream, “Le Rêve” at Wynn transports audiences to a fantastical aquatic wonderland depicted through the show’s talented troupe of gymnasts, dancers, aerialists and synchronized swimmers. The cast performs in, around and above a 27-foot-deep pool. The circular 1608-seat theater is situated around the pool with the furthest seat only 42 feet from the water. “Le Rêve” runs at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Fri. – Tue.
