Vegas Weekender: Go all out in Vegas

From fine dining specials to a special Gay Nights Las Vegas event, this weekend in Vegas has something for everyone. Wynn Las Vegas and Encore give guests something to savor with the Summertime Taste of Wynn event. Wine lovers won’t want to miss the Third Annual Aureole Las Vegas Wine Weekend on Aug. 5 – 7 at Mandalay Bay. Gay Nights Las Vegas is hosting a fabulous four-day party from Aug. 4 – 7 at several MGM Resorts properties. When it comes to entertainment visitors have plenty to laugh at with comic headliners including Tim Allen, Ron White and D.L. Hughley. International superstars Barry Manilow and Celine Dion are also performing this weekend in Vegas.

The award-winning chefs at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore offer guests all-new, distinctive three-course menus starting at a discounted price point of $39 for the Summertime Taste of Wynn event. From seaside Italian fare to authentic Japanese cuisine, guests have plenty to choose from when it comes to satisfying their palates. The restaurants offering special menus for the Summertime Taste of Wynn event include: Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, The Country Club, Lakeside, Okada, STRATTA, Wing Lei, Botero, Society Cafe Encore, Sinatra, SWITCH Steak and Wazuzu.

El Segundo Sol at the Fashion Show Mall gives everyone something to celebrate on Aug. 5 with Cinco de Agosto. This once-a-month event features food and drink specials and a lively atmosphere to help get your weekend started off right. Food specials include: $5 loaded nachos, $5 beef or chicken quesadillas and $4 cheese quesadillas. When it comes to drinks El Segundo Sol offers their signature $5 frozen margarita in various flavors including strawberry and prickly pear. At 5 p.m. the restaurant offers additional drink specials including $4 sangria by the glass and pitchers for $15. Tequila shots are $3.

Wine Weekend
Aureole, Charlie Palmer’s renowned Michelin-starred restaurant at Mandalay Bay, hosts the Third Annual Aureole Las Vegas Wine Weekend on Aug. 5 – 7. Encompassing three days and two nights, the Wine Weekend includes seven events, each showcasing fine wines from around the world, delicious food and the perfect opportunity to mix and mingle with friends. Guests will have the opportunity to sample Aureole’s impeccable cuisine from Swiss fondue to Mexican Ranchero, paired with expertly chosen wines.

UFC 133
Fans can get in on all the UFC 133 action on Aug. 6 with a viewing party at Lagasse’s Stadium at the Palazzo from 6 to 9 p.m. As MMA fighters go toe to toe in the octagon, guests can nosh on an assortment of finger foods and indulge in beverages inspired by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. With more than 100 HDTVs including a giant 9-foot by 16-foot screen, there’s not a bad seat in the house.

Gay Nights Las Vegas hosts an indulgent party weekend Aug. 4 – 7 with special events and promotions being offered at several properties including Aria, the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, the Mirage, New York-New York, Luxor and Crystals at CityCenter. Events include LGBT pool and nightclub parties, exclusive meet and greets with Cirque du Soleil performers and Dine OUT, the ultimate social dine-around. Eye Candy Sound, Lounge & Bar at Mandalay Bay will be the center of attention every night from 4 to 8 p.m. Here guests can meet, have access to concierge services, mingle with other Gay Nights guests and enjoy happy hour specials.

Clinton Sparks, DJ Dainjazone and DJ Obe One get the party started Aug. 5 for Clash, the weekly party at Rain at the Palms. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Calling all big spenders. On Aug. 5 The Bank at Bellagio is awarding the five biggest spenders of the night with a $1,000 John Varvatos gift certificate. Doors open at 10:30 p.m.

Blur your reality at Haze at Aria on Aug. 6 when Miami DJ Ross-One spins. Doors open at 10:30 p.m.

On Aug. 7 revelers can party down with New Boyz as they perform their hit song “You’re a Jerk” at The Bank at Bellagio. Doors open at 10:30 p.m.

Cirque du Soleil pays homage to the King of Rock ’n’ Roll in “Viva Elvis” at Aria at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Tue. -Sat.

Master magician David Copperfield brings his larger-than-life illusions to the intimate Hollywood Theater at MGM Grand. See him on Aug. 4 – 7 at 7:30 and 10 p.m. nightly; plus 4:30 p.m. Sat.

There’s no apologies when it comes to D.L. Hughley’s outrageous comedy at 10 p.m.on Aug. 5 – 6 at the Orleans.

Best known for playing Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor on the hit TV show “Home Improvement,” Tim Allen is taking his hilarious stand-up routine to the stage in Vegas at 9 p.m. on Aug. 5 – 6 at the Venetian.

International superstar Celine Dion treats audiences to a night of her greatest hit songs in her show at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 6 – 7 at Caesars Palace.
