“V — The Ultimate Variety Show” lives up to its name by offering a little bit of something for everyone. Magic, juggling, gymnastics, music, comedy and aerial acrobatic stunts are just a selection of the acts in this smorgasbord of entertainment. And let’s not forget “Funkytown” on a giant piano… played by throwing balls at the keys. This show runs daily at 7 and 8:30 p.m. in the V Theater at Planet Hollywood. Tickets start at $44.99.

Wu-Block – the collaboration between Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch – and special guest Saigon come to the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on Aug. 24. The Wu-Block album is expected to have contributions from both Wu-Tang Clan and D-Block members, which may bode well for surprise appearances at the show. Tickets start at $24; doors open at 8 p.m.

Comedian George Lopez comes to the Terry Fator Theater at the Mirage at 10 p.m. Aug. 24 – 25. Recently, Lopez was the host of TBS’ “Lopez Tonight,” which ended in 2011. The acclaimed comic has appeared on more than 70 TV shows and continues to maintain an active stand-up schedule. Tickets start at $62.84.

Long-running “Saturday Night Live” cast member Kevin Nealon lights up the Orleans Showroom with laughter on Aug. 24 – 25. Best known for “Subliminal Man,” “Mr. No Depth Perception” and the Weekend Update segment on SNL, Nealon has recently been seen on Showtime’s “Weeds” and Comedy Central’s “Crank Yankers.” Tickets start at $27.50.

Amy Schumer headlines the Riviera’s “Icons of Comedy” series, Aug. 24 – 26 at 10:30 p.m. Schumer appeared on Season 5 of “Last Comic Standing,” “The Roast of Charlie Sheen” and appears regularly in Adult Swim’s “Delocated.” She will return for additional shows on Oct. 12 – 14, Nov. 2 – 4, Nov. 30 – Dec. 2. Tickets start at $32.99.

Special events liven up the weekend

The “Howard Stern Show” brings their Ronnie Mund Block Party to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Aug. 25 for the Las Vegas leg of their tour. To kick things off, Ronnie Mund hosts a fan welcome party Friday, Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. at Center Bar. On Saturday afternoon, Ronnie and his crew will choose the “Hot Chick of the Week” at the Paradise Pool before they hit the poker pit for a tournament. Finally, The “Ronnie Mund Comedy Show” comes on at 9 p.m. at the Joint.

Emeril Lagasse’s multi award-winning Delmonico Steakhouse will host a special food and wine dining extravaganza Aug. 24 as part of The Venetian and The Palazzo’s Carnevale festival. The four-course meal starts at 6:30 p.m. with a wine reception and is followed by dessert. This special menu is priced at $175.

Nightlife and daylife keep the party going

It’s a busy weekend in Vegas’ club scene. On Friday, Aug. 24 DJ Wellman and DJ Mike Carbonell perform at Summer Camp Fridays at the Hard Rock pool, while at night Dave Aude spins in Haze at Aria, Lil Jon takes on Surrender at Encore Las Vegas and 1 OAK at Mirage Las Vegas hosts Daniel Chetrit’s birthday celebration, which includes a guest DJ set. You can also “Kiss the Sky” Friday at the second-to-last of Binion’s free summer rooftop pool party series with tunes by Wicked.

Audrey Napoleon hits Encore Beach Club on Saturday, Aug. 25, Wallpaper appears at The Bank at Bellagio, NO_ID and Warren Peace spin at XS in Encore and Sex Panther provides the soundtrack at Palms Pool and Bungalows.
