Vegas tours bring the heat this winter

We know what you’re thinking.

Why in the world would anyone want to take a tour this time of year? After all, nothing sounds better than snuggling up in a sweater by the fireplace or in the confines of your hotel room. Despite the cold temperatures, we suggest you don’t shy away from tours.

You can see breathtaking views of frost-tipped mountains and the neon lights by helicopter, control a plane yourself or relax and not even worry about driving at all. Who said you can’t enjoy the great outdoors during the harsh winter months?

Up, up and away!

stripLas Vegas offers a variety of helicopter tours where you can sit back and enjoy the ride. If walking on the Las Vegas Strip sounds too chilly, why not see all of the lights with an unforgettable helicopter ride? These tours don’t take up your entire evening and you still see a lot in a short amount of time. These tours include the Apollo Night Flight Tour, Vegas Nights, The Twilight Tour and City Lights.

The Vegas Voyage helicopter tour includes views of the Las Vegas Strip, Downtown and mountains including Mount Charleston and Red Rock Canyon. Ground transportation is available to and from your hotel.

If you want to catch views of the city as well as the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, the Sunset Escape Tour and Silver Cloud Sunset offers all of these. Flights end with a stunning sunset view.

grandcanyonThe Grand Canyon Escape Tour starts with up-close, aerial views of Lake Mead and Hoover Dam and remarkable views of the Grand Canyon’s West Rim. The tour ends with a view of the Las Vegas Strip. Your trip includes limousine transportation to and from your hotel.

The Grand Canyon Air Only tour gives you an in-depth look at the canyon, as well as Lake Mead, extinct volcanoes and Hoover Dam views.

If you’re a fan of the movie “Top Gun” and hoped to one day fly a plane on your own, then you’re in luck.  The After Burner, Sky Combat or Top Gun tours let you experience what it takes to be a fighter pilot. With the help of a professional fighter pilot guiding you, you’ll execute flight aerobatics like loops, rolls and spins in no time. After the rush you get from this, the brisk winter temperatures will definitely be the last thing on your mind.

Wine and Dine

If you’d rather stay low to the ground, we have tours where you can unwind without having to worry about driving.

One trip to consider is the Pahrump Valley Wine Tour. Located 50 miles southwest of Las Vegas, travel to the winery in style in a limousine. Once you arrive, sip on award-winning wines in the winery’s tasting room. You’ll also get two complimentary bottles of Pahrump Valley Vineyard’s wine.

You may also opt to stay in town with the Ultra Vegas Strip Tour See the glitz and glamour of the Strip in a snazzy limousine. Kick back with your closest friends and sip on champagne while admiring the stunning views. Hummer and Escalade options are also available if you have a bigger party.

The best part of these tours? You don’t have to worry about driving back to your hotel. Bottoms up!

Most folks take their Vegas jackpot winnings back home, but my dad decided to stay here instead. That’s how I left Seattle almost 20 years ago. I moved from greenery and rainy days to hot summers, palm trees and desert. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to stick around Vegas. This city just has so much to offer. You don’t even have to be a gambler, bar hopper or an all-night partier. I love Vegas for its awesome vegan-friendly spots, concerts, swanky hotel suites and spas so big, they’re like castles. The pool scene is not too shabby either, which is why I love taking stay-cations. Besides living it up -- Vegas style -- I’m hanging out with my handsome hubby, adorable baby girl, two cats and super-fluffy Shih-Tzu. I’m also a huge fan of '90s music, shows and movies. You can find me on Google+ and Twitter.
