Vegas jumps on fashion frenzy train

fashion2Attention all divas and shopaholics: The Fashion Show mall and The Shoppes at the Palazzo in Las Vegas are taking style to a whole new level.

This year, these two shopping malls are hosting “Fashion’s Night Out,” a collaboration with Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York. Fashion’s Night Out puts the fun back in shopping.

Last year in New York City alone, more than 800 participating stores across five boroughs brought in thousands of shoppers. Designers, celebrities, models and fashion editors made appearances during this extravaganza. This year, hundreds of retailers in cities across the country will host their own Fashion’s Night Out celebrations.

The Shoppes at the Palazzo and the Fashion Show mall teamed up to create a week-long series of events to promote Fashion’s Night Out centered around the nearly 250-plus designer boutiques. The Shoppes at The Palazzo and Fashion Show are among the first in the city to participate in this global fashion frenzy. Official participation for Fashion’s Night Out is through application only.

In addition, more than 75 retailers will be offering special shopping incentives throughout the weekend including Fendi, 7 For All Mankind, Dooney & Burke, Banana Republic, Jimmy Choo and GUESS,  to name a few.

Most folks take their Vegas jackpot winnings back home, but my dad decided to stay here instead. That’s how I left Seattle almost 20 years ago. I moved from greenery and rainy days to hot summers, palm trees and desert. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to stick around Vegas. This city just has so much to offer. You don’t even have to be a gambler, bar hopper or an all-night partier. I love Vegas for its awesome vegan-friendly spots, concerts, swanky hotel suites and spas so big, they’re like castles. The pool scene is not too shabby either, which is why I love taking stay-cations. Besides living it up -- Vegas style -- I’m hanging out with my handsome hubby, adorable baby girl, two cats and super-fluffy Shih-Tzu. I’m also a huge fan of '90s music, shows and movies. You can find me on Google+ and Twitter.
