The Vegas Weekender: Independence Day rocks Sin City

What better way to spend a weekend filled with loud, sparkly fireworks than in a loud, sparkly city?

Make your way to Las Vegas and the city will be sure to roll out the red carpet for you — white and blue carpets to follow. With plenty to do the city will be ablaze with star-studded events, entertainment, and fireworks displays.

Relax poolside at Wynn or Encore and enjoy an adult snow cone, available in two flavors: wild cherry with cherry vodka, Red Bull and fresh lime or grape crush, with grape vodka, Red Bull, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and fresh lime.

But if you want to do more than get a tan, here are some great ways to spend your Fourth of July weekend.

Freedom and fireworks go hand in hand in Vegas

Start your Independence Day vacation with a bang. Las Vegas is throwing a few great parties complete with fireworks, so don’t miss your chance to watch the show.

Want to go high-tech? The Fremont Street Experience will have an electronic display of fireworks under the Viva Vision canopy July 3 – 5.

Fireworks lead off Mandalay Bay’s July 4th celebration. They will be launched off the beach at 9 p.m. followed by a concert performed by Mystic Roots. Tickets to the show start at $20 per person. Fireworks will only be visible to concert-goers.

Join M Resort for the Freedom Fireworks Extravaganza, complete with fireworks and food starting at 7 p.m., fireworks are at 9:15 p.m. and admission is free.

Off the Las Vegas Strip, the Station Casinos will have simultaneous fireworks displays at nine of their properties: Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho, Fiesta Henderson, Aliante Station, Santa Fe Station and Sunset Station.
