The Spa at The Mirage offers a one-of-a-kind experience, Yoga Among the Dolphins. It takes place in a serene underwater viewing area within Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. The underwater location features multiple windows, providing an intimate opportunity to view the resort’s family of bottlenose dolphins while flowing from pose to pose. The instructor-led class is open to everyone. All skill levels welcome. The 60-minute class is available Friday – Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $50 per person.

The Spa at Bellagio features a boot camp class sure to leave you sweating. Using FitDeck exercise cards, your instructors take you through a circuit that is different with every class. Combining cardiovascular and resistance training methods, you’ll challenge your entire body. After you’re done blasting calories, recuperate and restore at the spa. The 50-minute class is $40 per person and starts at 9 a.m. daily.

Take part in an insightful tour of CityCenter’s Fine Art Collection with The Spa at Aria’s indoor hike. Your guide will take you through some of the most scenic and “heart rate-raising” areas of the expansive property. This heart-pumping workout focuses on the whole body. This isn’t just an easy stroll, either: Perform yoga and various exercises along the way. The 60-minute class is $50. Reservations are required by calling the spa.

Jump start your year with a personal training session from The Spa at Trump. The spa’s trainers will get you on the way to a new you. Each 60-minute session is $80.

Fancy face

This year, make sure you let that pretty face of yours glow. While none of us are getting younger, there are certainly ways we can look and feel that way, all without heavy makeup and expensive surgery.

The Spa at Trump offers its Trump Results Facial. Your spa therapist will apply Kate Somerville’s anti-aging dermal booster, which deeply penetrates the skin surface. The service incorporates a deep tissue repair cream made of a blend of peptides and collagen builders. These amplify the skin’s natural ability to maintain its own collagen level leaving a youthful, hydrated complexion (60 minutes, $170).

Located inside Caesars Palace, Qua Baths & Spa features its oxygenating facial. This treatment restores skin to its natural glow by neutralizing the damaging effects of smoking, pollution and other harsh environmental factors. This is ideal for those wanting to brighten up a dull complexion or when skin shows signs of fatigue and stress (50 minutes, $180).

Or, turn back the hands of time withQua’s hydra therapy facial. It bathes the underlying skin with anti-aging and vitamin serums. Your aesthetician will deeply exfoliate and hydrate your skin to give it a youthful luster. By adding the Diamond Tip Abrasion (crystal-free microdermabrasion) to your facial, it helps diminish fine lines and stimulate collagen, leaving your skin radiant. This service is available for all skin types (80 minutes, $325).

We got your back

There’s no reason to carry stress from the previous year. Plenty of spas in Vegas have specialized massages that cater to your needs.

If you’re coming with your sweetie or your best friend, The Spa at Wynn Las Vegas offers the Four Hands Massage. This service features two synchronized therapists using rich oils to send your body into a deep state of relaxation.

Drumsticks aren’t just for rock ’n’ rollers: Located inside Hard Rock’s HRH Tower, Reliquary Spa offers its signature service, Drum Sticks. Your therapist uses bamboo reeds for drumming, tapping and rolling to rebalance your body’s energy flow. Plus, the service works deep within your muscles and trigger points. Rock on and relax.

For those truly ready to start the new year fresh, Reliquary Spa’s Rehab is a detoxifying treatment that eliminates impurities, increases circulation and balances the skin, body and mind.

If you’re all about natural treatments, look no further than Spa & Salon Vdara. Focusing on holistic health, the body treatments incorporate the finest organic ingredients derived from herbs, flowers, fruits, vegetables and oils. The peppermint and tea tree reflexology massage is a sure treat. It works wonders for your body by soothing your strained, overworked muscles, while the aromatic and healing properties in this blend ease your mind, body and spirit. For extra tight muscles, your therapist can apply a cool, soothing muscle rub gel to finish off your treatment (50 minutes, $150).

The Grand Spa at MGM Grand offers its detoxifying marine gel wrap. Rich in marine minerals and vitamins, this treatment helps to detoxify the body, gives deep moisture to dry or sensitive skin, relieves tired legs and is ideal for firming slack muscle tone (75 minutes, $265).

The signature Birch detoxifying wrap at The Spa at The Mirage  infuses vitamins, minerals and protein to clear the senses, boost the immune system and infuse the body with rich moisture. A generous application of mineral crème completes this treatment. You leave feeling renewed and energized (50 minutes, $160).

Ice cream, you scream

Let’s end your spa adventure on a sweet note: Even if you’re watching your calories for the new year, that doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself on treats – for your feet, that is! The Venetian and Palazzo’s Canyon Ranch SpaClub offers its ice cream pedicure, with flavors changing each month.

Delight your senses with a special foot sundae. The bath “ice cream” fizzes and releases oils, minerals and fragrances into the water to soothe and revitalize feet. Enjoy exfoliation and a moisturizing application immediately after. Pick your polish, relax and leave ready for a night out in town. The 50-minute service is $95 on weekdays and $100 on weekends.

Most folks take their Vegas jackpot winnings back home, but my dad decided to stay here instead. That’s how I left Seattle almost 20 years ago. I moved from greenery and rainy days to hot summers, palm trees and desert. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to stick around Vegas. This city just has so much to offer. You don’t even have to be a gambler, bar hopper or an all-night partier. I love Vegas for its awesome vegan-friendly spots, concerts, swanky hotel suites and spas so big, they’re like castles. The pool scene is not too shabby either, which is why I love taking stay-cations. Besides living it up -- Vegas style -- I’m hanging out with my handsome hubby, adorable baby girl, two cats and super-fluffy Shih-Tzu. I’m also a huge fan of '90s music, shows and movies. You can find me on Google+ and Twitter.
