Holiday-inspired spa specials in Vegas make the perfect winter treat

This time of year is the worst for my skin. I’m always ashy. This means your skin is visibly dry — think how you’d look after rolling around on a dusty chalkboard.

Luckily, not only does Las Vegas offer moisturizing treatments that lotion can’t fix on its own, but you can also enjoy limited-time holiday treatments as well. What a treat! So if your sweetie pie, best friend or other loved ones are asking what you would like for Christmas, a spa treatment (in Vegas!) would be the ideal treat. And honestly — who can resist candy cane, egg nog or Peppermint Patti treatments?

Reliquary Spa, Hard Rock

candycaneReliquary Water Sanctuary & Spa welcomes the holidays with its unique Candy Cane Ritual. Through Dec. 29, the limited-time treatment puts a seasonal spin on the spa’s Reliquary Ancient Cane Ritual.  During this 50-minute treatment, therapists use peppermint oil to deeply moisturize tired bodies. Drift away to bliss as the ritual continues with the use of bamboo reeds for drumming, tapping and rolling over weary muscles.  The combination of the invigorating peppermint oil and the soothing motions of the bamboo reeds create a perfect balance that relieves the body’s energy flow while working deep within the muscles and trigger points. The Candy Cane Ritual is available for $120 (normally $185).

Spa & Salon Vdara

Most folks take their Vegas jackpot winnings back home, but my dad decided to stay here instead. That’s how I left Seattle almost 20 years ago. I moved from greenery and rainy days to hot summers, palm trees and desert. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to stick around Vegas. This city just has so much to offer. You don’t even have to be a gambler, bar hopper or an all-night partier. I love Vegas for its awesome vegan-friendly spots, concerts, swanky hotel suites and spas so big, they’re like castles. The pool scene is not too shabby either, which is why I love taking stay-cations. Besides living it up -- Vegas style -- I’m hanging out with my handsome hubby, adorable baby girl, two cats and super-fluffy Shih-Tzu. I’m also a huge fan of '90s music, shows and movies. You can find me on Google+ and Twitter.
