‘Zumanity’ unveils new act on Las Vegas Boulevard

Las Vegas is big on all surprises – OK, well not the kind of surprises that require medicated ointment but definitely surprises like yesterday’s sexy “Zumanity” showcase that popped up for the public in front of Lady Liberty outside of the New York – New York Hotel & Casino.

Luring in the public with juicy strawberries and the equally delicious-looking acrobats of “Zumanity,” we (and the crowd who enjoys catching a provocative curbside cabaret without fearing blue lights and public indecency tickets) got to see a sneak preview of some of the seductive new scenes that just slinked their way into Cirque du Soleil’s most sensual performance.

Kicking off the event with a performance by the a portion of the production’s talented orchestra and two singers, the audience was captivated with enchanting music and dancing cast members including the voluptuous Botero Sisters, The Mistress of Sensuality, the show’s zany sex therapists Dick and Izzy among others.

However, once the music came to an end, the crowd gathered around the Statue of Liberty where the ever-fabulous Mistress of Sensuality introduced the production’s new choreographer, Yanis Marshall, before one of the his hot, never-before-seen dance numbers was strutted before the ogling onlookers.

Following the steamy dance routine, the audience became quickly drawn to the show’s daring “Chains” act that literally took off before their eyes. Soaring to great heights with no safety except for his own grip on the flying chain apparatus, aerial acrobat Brandon Pereyda twisted, flipped and soared among the crowd for a breathtaking overhead performance.

And while the outdoor showcase only permitted for a modest (any more public naughtiness just may have warranted one of those aforementioned tickets) sneak preview of the updated show’s surprises, The Mistress of Sensuality assured us that “When you come to see the show, you’re going to see a lot more flesh…” and action of course.

Trading one desert for another, I moved to Las Vegas from Arizona nearly three years ago. It was something about the sparkling lights and the all-encompassing entertainment factor that persuaded me to swap cacti for casinos and dry heat for well…even drier heat. And while I do love a good show, I will always keep true to my country girl ways seeing that I am an absolute sucker for a good country concert and will always indulge the opportunity to go out country dancing! But in a city that undoubtedly has some of the world’s best cuisine, a wild assortment of endless experiences, and of course phenomenal shows, Vegas certainly has that unparalleled good time vibe that can make a city slicker out of just about anyone… including myself!
