Vegas mourns the passing of Prince
Las Vegas is mourning the loss of legendary music artist Prince today. He performed concerts in Vegas several times and even had a six-month residency at the Rio in 2006-2007.

Prince fans have been going to see the tribute show, “Purple Reign,” in Vegas for years. The show posted today, “One of the great lights of our world has moved on to the next. You will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace our beautiful Prince.”
“Legends in Concert,” a show that also features a Prince tribute artist, released this statement today: “Legends in Concert is shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely passing of musical icon Prince. His legacy will live on in our hearts forever through his incredible artistry and innovations in music…All of our Legends in Concert performances will be dedicated today to the memory of Prince, one of the greatest Legends of all time.”
Las Vegas will pay tribute to Prince downtown tonight on the Fremont Street Experience with special shows on the Viva Vision canopy after each light show.
The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo will also turn their building signs purple tonight in tribute.
Prince was loved by his fans and by other entertainers. Many Las Vegas headliners and shows were shocked by the news today and took to social media to express their sadness:
