Come get your swag on.  The two most prestigious hip-hop dance competitions in the world are coming to Vegas. On July 25 – 31 the best hip-hop dancers from more than 35 countries will go head to head at Hip Hop International’s USA Hip Hop Dance Championship and the World Hip Hop Dance Championship. This is the fourth year in a row that these events have been held in Vegas, and 2011 marks their 10th anniversary. The event organizers are the same creators behind the hit MTV show “America’s Best Dance Crew.” This is your chance to catch all of the action you’ve seen on television, live and in Vegas.

The competition features 2,000 street dancers from around the world. The contestants will compete in divisions for crews ( five to eight dancers), MegaCrews (15 to 40 dancers) and “in-your-face” street battles for poppers, lockers, b-boys and freestylers.

The USA Hip Hop Dance Championship takes place at the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa on July 25 – 26, followed by the World Hip Hop Dance Championships and semi-finals on July 27 – 29. Among the competitors are “America’s Best Dance Crew” favorites ICONic Boyz. Consisting of seven dancers, some  as young as 10 years old, the crew finished in a strong second on season six of “America’s Best Dance Crew” with a nationwide vote of 51 million.

July 30 is World Battle Day where the skills from the best b-boys, poppers, lockers and freestylers will be put to the test in a series of “can you top this” battles including a World B-boy Three-On-Three Crew Battle, All Styles Battle and World Popping and Locking One-On-One Battles.  All these events take place at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa.

The World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finals takes place on July 31 at the Orleans. Contestants at the event include the defending world champions from Japan and New Zealand.

The World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finals will also include a special presentation of the Living Legend Hip Hop Award to America’s Best Dance Crew Executive Producer Randy Jackson. A Grammy Award-winning producer, Jackson has been working in the music industry for 20 years. As a musician and producer he’s worked on more than 1,000 gold and multi-platinum albums. When “American Idol” launched in 2002, Jackson was soon known by audiences across the country for his work as a judge on the hit TV show.

His success on “American Idol” lead to the launch of “America’s Best Dance Crew” in 2008. Each week, the show features different hip-hop dance crews showcasing their unique creative talents, choreography and dance skills. The groups are eliminated by a panel of judges until one dance crew is awarded the title of America’s Best Dance Crew and a cash prize of $100,000.  Fresh off its sixth season, the show is a pop-culture sensation. Hip Hop International is presenting Jackson with the Living Legend Hip Hop Award for raising awareness and respect for street dance and for helping that genre go from being an underground subculture to a popular form of family entertainment.
