“Naughty Mommy” Maria Walsh beat out 225 comics to win a week headlining at the Riviera Comedy Club. Walsh’s hilarious commentary on parenting and marriage kept judges laughing through every round of the contest, which lasted more than a month.

The Long Island, N.Y. resident has toured the country, driving crowds to hysterics by declaring what everyone thinks but is afraid to say. Walsh’s gig at the Riviera will be her first in Las Vegas. She will headline June 17 – 23.

“Maria has never before performed in Las Vegas, and when you take the stage here, you must bring your A-game,” said the Riviera’s director of entertainment, Mark Massimino, in a statement. “People expect more, and she has proven to be up to the task.”

The Riviera Comedy Club’s Next Comic Headliner search invited comedians from around the country to submit videos of their work. Sixteen semifinalists were chosen to perform live in four contest rounds at the club, and Walsh was picked from among four finalists, who competed on the stage on Saturday before a live audience.

Walsh will join an impressive list of comic headliners — from Bob Hope to Andrew Dice Clay — who have played the Riviera over the 58-year history of the Comedy Club.

“I am overwhelmed to take the same stage at the Riviera where so many legendary comics have performed,” Walsh said in a statement. “In comedy, you need to work hard, hone your skills and get your name out there and this is a great way to do that.”
