Crossroads at House of Blues Las Vegas unveiled a new portrait sculpture in its gallery of stars yesterday to commemorate the start of Carlos Santana’s shows at the venue, billed “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live — Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow.”

The artwork, called a “bas relief,” was placed on the ceiling where “the Blues Gods” are represented. The bas reliefs depict the faces of blues masters and musicians inspired by the blues tradition.

The portrait was revealed alongside a presentation for the Drawing Us Together contest, which recognizes the work of local student artists. Santana announced two winners in the high school category and presented them with their awards.

Santana will perform at the House of Blues at 8 p.m. on select nights through the end of the year.
