Absinthe cranks up the crazy for 1,000th performance

Vegas’ most outrageous theatrical creation hit a milestone last night: Absinthe celebrated its 1,000th performance and two years of success on the Las Vegas Strip with a special show at the Speigeltent in the Roman Plaza.

The eccentric cast of Absinthe served up all the jaw-dropping acts and excess audiences have come to love — incredible feats of strength, balance, danger and flexibility performed in circus-style theater-in-the-round — but added something especially gruesome for the occasion.

Zombies overtook the tent to put on a sideshow of ghastly gore.

Afterward, guests socialized over drinks provided by Belvedere Vodka and small bites from Central by Michel Richard. Who and Paulo da Rosa, the musical duo that blends live guitar with DJ beats, provided entertainment.
