Anyone who has partied in Las Vegas knows there isn’t another place like it in the world.
Vegas is the home to the biggest and fanciest clubs, the best DJs and wildest parties you can find anywhere. And what makes Vegas so unique is that there’s not just one or two places that host these parties in a once-a-year setting, there are dozens of them going on every night all within four miles of each other.
That distinction hasn’t gotten past the folks at Nightclub & Bar Magazine, which handed out its 2011 awards Wednesday to the United States nightlife industry. This is only the second year of the awards, the magazine has already found out that Vegas is in a category unto itself and has rightfully judged Sin City on its own with the other cities of the U.S. competing together in another category.
The winners for the Las Vegas Nightclub Awards go to:
Las Vegas Dayclub of the Year
• Liquid Pool Lounge, Aria Resort & Casino
Las Vegas Mega-club of the Year
• Pure, Caesars Palace
Las Vegas New Club of the Year
• Haze Nightclub, Aria Resort & Casino
Las Vegas Nightclub of the Year
• Tryst, Wynn Las Vegas
Las Vegas Ongoing Promotion/Party/Event of the Year
• Vice Sundays, Lavo
Las Vegas Resident DJ of the Year• Kaskade at Encore Beach Club
Las Vegas Single Promotion/Party/Event of the Year
• Erick Morillo Labor Day Weekend at Tao
Winners from 2010 were not allowed to be in the 2011 competition, which is why you’ll notice missing clubs like XS, last year’s winner for both the Mega-Club and New Club categories.
Bars, however, were judged all together. The Downtown Cocktail Room and The Sporting House Bar & Grill (formerly ESPN Zone) were finalists in the Cocktail Lounge of the Year and Sports Bar of the Year categories, respectively, but just missed winning the awards.
