It feels as if we were fending off the winter blues just days ago, but just like that, we’re in pool season. Pool clubs are more than just deck chairs and floating pool toys. Pool clubs are a party scene not unlike nightclubs, but during the day.
But much wilder. And poolside.
OK, if that doesn’t excite you, perhaps some of these event and pool party lineups will:
Azure (Palazzo): Opens March 23. Azure is a stylish pool club, matching the experience you’d expect from the Palazzo and the Venetian. With more of an emphasis on a luxurious experience, Azure will offer a great selection of cocktails, sushi and other bites in addition to providing a fun pool club ambiance. They’ve also put together a series of videos to promote this stylish pool experience: http://www.palazzo.com/Azure/
Bare (Mirage): This European-style (which means going topless is OK) pool kicked things off earlier this month. Bare’s upper deck features an infinity pool and overlooks Mirage’s dolphin habitat. The lower deck features elevated daybeds, private cabanas and comfortable chaise lounge chairs and daybeds, so you have as much of a chance to relax as you do to party.
Check out the March 24 Mr. Best album release party or the March 25 “San Diego Invasion” for a taste of what this pool has to offer.
Palms Pool / Ditch Fridays / Palm Pool Saturdays (Palms): The Palms Pool and Bungalows opens March 28 and offers two wild party choices on weekends starting in April. The pool itself features the cool glass bar, a glass-bottomed deck pool that provides fun views for bar patrons, the waterfall bar behind a cascading, 12-foot waterfall and 27 cabanas with all the comforts you could ask for.
The raucous Ditch Fridays party returns April 20, with Kelis and The Hotourage and a $10,000 giveaway. Flo-Rida, Tyga and Jazzy Jeff are among the big names in performer/DJ lineup this pool season.
Palms Pool Saturdays kicks off with Starkillers on April 21, with guest performers like Busta Rhymes, Roger Sanchez and Sex Panther coming down the pipeline.
Encore Beach Club (Encore): EBC is open for “pre-season” business, but the grand opening party kicks off with Steve Angello on April 21. This may be the day club to go to if you’re looking to catch an electronic dance music superstar as you party, however. The Wynn and Encore’s nightlife/daylife lineup recently signed an unprecedented roster of more than 30 DJ residents, including huge names like Angello, Tiësto and deadmau5.
“With an unprecedented line-up of superstar electronic music talent filling our calendar, we can’t be more excited about 2012 at Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub,” said Sean Christie, co-owner and managing partner of Encore Beach Club and Surrender. “We’re not missing a beat at Surrender, where performances from EDM luminaries and red-hot cutting-edge artists will confirm Wynn Las Vegas as the epicenter of dance music culture in America.”
Liquid (Aria): Liquid started the pool season earlier this month, with their DJ Scene Fridays party starting March 23 featuring West Coast DJ sensation DJ Scene. On Thursdays, you can make it to The Real House DJs of Las Vegas party, which showcases some of Sin City’s best DJs, starting with DJ Stellar from Haze and DJ Teenwolf.
Beachlife at Hard Rock Hotel / Rehab / Relax (Hard Rock Hotel): The Hard Rock Hotel’s philosophy must include the phrase “party like a rock star” somewhere, with this lineup.
Beachlife consists of Paradise Beach, Nirvana Pool and Breathe Pool at the resort.
For the party scene, April 20 will feature the premier of Summer Camp Fridays, while the ninth year of the infamous Rehab Sundays starts on April 22 with DJ Pauly D of “Jersey Shore” fame and Relax Mondays starts on April 23.
Marquee Dayclub (Cosmopolitan): Avicii headlines Marquee Dayclub’s season grand opening on April 21, with DJs throughout the season including residents Armin van Buuren, Benny Benassi, Kaskade, Redfoo, and more. Taking up 22,000 square feet of the Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub complex, Marquee Dayclub features two pools, several bars and a gaming area. Guests can relax in one of the eight cabanas, which feature infinity edge glass dipping pools and all the usual cabana amenities.
Moorea Beach Club (Mandalay Bay): Moorea Beach Club is a “toptional” beach club, which opens for the season on Thursday, March 29. Guests have access to chaise lounge chairs, opium beds, day beds and pavilions, the latter of which includes a flat-screen TV, king-size bed and CD player.
Tao Beach (Venetian): Opening in early April, TAO Beach offers Asian-inspired day beds, which are also accompanied with their own mini fridge, comfortable oversized chaise lounges spread throughout and several bar seating areas. The cabanas are among the largest in town and guests can enjoy Canyon Ranch Spa treatments and lunch from the TAO restaurant.
On Saturday nights, the club puts on a pool light show with floating Chinese lanterns and four 14-foot-tall fire columns casting a glow over the night sky.
Wet Republic (MGM Grand): After opening pool season earlier in March, Wet Republic is slated to have a special guest in former “Girl Next Door” and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett.
Guests at the 53,000-square-foot “ultra-pool” complex have many options: You can chill over cocktails in the poolside lounge, relax in one of six VIP bungalows or bask in the party scene on the main pool deck or cabanas. Conveniently, guests can valet right at the pool, so you don’t even have to walk through the casino to get here.
