Best Vegas clubs for New Year’s Eve

Aside from the built-in excuse to sneak a kiss in public, the best thing about New Year’s Eve is the entertainment. And no place on Earth puts together a better lineup of NYE headliners than Las Vegas. From pop superstars to pop-rap superstars to other pop-rap superstars, Vegas clubs know what fans want to see and how hard they want to party. So make your choice, get in line and scratch off ‘saw incredible show at outstanding club’ of your early list of resolutions.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

Where: 1OAK at The Mirage

Prices: Starting at $75

Resolution: To always stand up for what’s right.

At this point, even people who aren’t into his style or music know Macklemore for his catchy hits and social messages. And people know Ryan Lewis as that guy who’s always with Macklemore (which is a shame because he’s a superb musician and performer in his own right). But whether you’re a hardcore fan of either, or you just appreciate “Same Love” for giving you the line “damn right I support it” to use in everyday life, this party is sure to give you something to talk about when you finally get over the excitement – that’ll probably be sometime around mid January.

Iggy Azalea

Where: Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell

Prices: Starting at $100

Resolution: To never apologize for being fancy.

More than just the girl who sings that song we can’t get out of our heads after typing the word “fancy,” Iggy Azalea is an acclaimed performer who’s no stranger to Drai’s. She knows the room, the atmosphere and absolutely knows how to put on a hell of a show. Taking center stage for the night, she’ll bring her powerful performance to the Las Vegas Strip matched only by the boom of the fireworks overhead. This indoor/outdoor venue is the perfect spot to see both stupendous shows and feel like you’re really a part of – while still being deservedly above – one of the biggest nights ever in Las Vegas.

Resolution: To always look within for inspiration.

Count down to 2015 with one of the biggest sensations of the year, Drake. The rap artist’s performance will feature the sounds of DJ Politik and the contemplative but supercharged stylings that have made Drake so influential. And as if that weren’t enough, tickets also include entry to Marquee Dayclub on Jan. 1 to rock out under the heated Marquee Dayclub Dome. Swimwear is encouraged – where else can you get that this time of year?

This New Year’s Eve they’re holding onto that trend-setting reputation with Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Miguel. With his eclectic and soulful R&B style, Miguel will entertain and enthrall the audience at this awe-inspiring venue. Robin Thicke

Where: Foxtail at SLS Las Vegas

Prices: Starting at $50

Resolution: To think about the impact of the music around you.

Foxtail at SLS is one of the Las Vegas’ hottest and most exclusive spots for musical performances and stylish parties. Usually only open on certain nights and for certain events, Foxtail is flinging open its doors – to ticketholders of course – for the farewell to 2014. Robin Thicke will provide the entertainment and tickets include open access to all the nightlife venues at SLS after 12:30 a.m. so you can stretch your legs, explore the newest mega property on the Strip and start off 2015 with your own kind of bang.

I came from a little town in the Midwest. And believe me, I’m never going back. It’s probably nice if you love grass and snow; but I love the lights, the glamour, and the flocks of tourists seeking fun and fortune. Once the sun goes down, I’ll be the first one out hitting the clubs or just wandering the Strip for a little nighttime adventure. Passing through Bond on my way to Lily Bar, or taking a shortcut through Double Helix before landing at Parasol Up/Down, I’m the one you’ll randomly bump into – only sometimes literally – strolling through Sin City’s liquored veins – and loving every minute of it.
