Seven of Vegas’ pool clubs are ready to spring into March

Here we go again…the nicest thing about the end of winter in Vegas is the arrival of pool party season. Many of the resorts on the Strip house dayclubs that open when the temperatures begin to rise. That means lots of good times – drinking, tanning, cavorting and chilling out to the beat of DJ-spun music – before the sun goes down. Indeed, pool parties provide the perfect run-up to the nightlife scene, which is naturally filled with more debauchery. So, are you ready to have some sizzling fun in Sin City in the afternoons? Here are seven pool clubs that will be launching with a splash in March.

Why it’ll be hot: Marquee Dayclub is on tap to be the first pool club to debut this season. It got a head start over President’s Day weekend by teaming up with Insomniac Events, the folks behind the annual Electric Daisy Carnival, to throw a winter pool party dubbed “Halfway to EDC.” Of course, the event featured sets from DJs like Candyland, Kennedy Jones, Lema, Firebeatz, Paris Blohm and Dash Berlin. Expect an equally impressive lineup of EDM talent all summer long – making Marquee Dayclub perfect for those who love to get their grove going while in their swimsuits. Frank Rempe will spin during opening weekend on March 7 and 9, with Lema taking things over on March 8 and 14.

Bare Pool Lounge at The Mirage
March 13, 2014
Why it’ll be hot: At 14,000 square feet, Bare Pool Lounge offers an intimate and refined pool scene combined with attentive, personalized service. Launched in 2007, it’s counted among the city’s “European-style” dayclubs, meaning ladies are welcome to tan with their tops off. You’ll discover two elegant dipping pools, six VIP cabanas and eight daybeds at Bare Pool Lounge. Plus, there’s an open-air bar and a DJ booth that will feature Kurch on March 15. Surrounded by palm trees, it truly is a daytime oasis – and the ideal spot to lose your inhibitions!

Why it’ll be hot: Defined by its contemporary ambiance, Liquid Pool Lounge is always raising the bar on poolside partying. This 16,000-square-foot dayclub was designed to make a splash with its sleekly curved main pool and two private dipping pools. Spread your towel by the water’s edge or reserve one of the chaise lounges, daybeds or grand cabanas. Liquid Pool Lounge also boasts a 50-seat, open-air bar and restaurant with a scrumptious menu created by Brian Massie, the executive chef of The Light Group. DJs are often on hand (like Jayceeoh and Scooter & Lavelle, who will appear on March 15 and 22, respectively) to pound out the beats, so be ready to rock out while you indulge in food, booze, sun and water.

Encore Beach Club at Encore
March 14, 2014
Why it’ll be hot: Soak up the rays at Encore Beach Club’s lushly landscaped, three-tiered pool complex. This beautiful venue is known for attracting celebrities and world-class DJs. In fact, kicking off its opening weekend is a stellar lineup that includes Deorro (March 14), AN21 (March 15) and Max Vangeli (March 16). Live it up by reserving a lilypad, a cabana or one of Encore Beach Club’s eight luxury two-story bungalows, which come with private bathrooms,  infinity dipping pools, cooling systems and Strip views.

Wet Republic

Why it’ll be hot: Wet Republic has just completed the second phase of its two-year remodeling project. The 54,500-square-foot dayclub already has two large saltwater pools, three intimate dipping pools and six cascading waterfalls, complete with lounge chairs, daybeds, “party cabanas” and bungalows. Now daytime revelers will have the chance to be spoiled in six new VIP bungalows equipped not only with plush furnishings, flat-screen TVs and misting fans, but also with three private plunge pools. New restroom and shower facilities were added, and the shade area has been extended too. Thanks to last year’s expansion of the DJ booth and upgrade of the LED display, Wet Republic has become a gathering spot for the biggest names in EDM, and fans of dance music won’t be disappointed with the lineup this summer. On March 29, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano will be at the turntables while W&W will take over on March 30. In addition, resident DJs Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki and Tiësto will all be returning later in the season.

Palms Pool at Palms
March 17, 2014
Why it’ll be hot: Palms Pool is a two-acre playground for adults. Along with two large pools and a small elevated, glass-bottomed pool, there are three bars (including one that’s hidden behind a waterfall). Home to the beloved Ditch Fridays and Ditch Saturdays events, which will return in early May, you can always expect to escape from reality here. As the season gets into gear, Palms Pool will offer DJ-spun music on most afternoons as well as host numerous concerts and special events, like the Baker to Vegas parties on March 22 and 23 featuring Justin Credible and DJ Reflex, respectively. Plus, you can try your luck at one of the poolside blackjack tables, which are usually operating on weekends.

Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay
March 21, 2014
Why it’ll be hot: Spanning 50,000 square feet and accommodating up to 5,000 people, Daylight Beach Club is one of the biggest pool clubs in Las Vegas. That being said, it has actually undergone an expansion for the 2014 season. This year brings two new VIP pools (a 448-square-foot pool to serve the north-side cabanas and a 245-square-foot pool for the southwest-side cabanas), more lush greenery and special effects enhancements that may rival the sun’s bright beams. Inspired by the sophisticated scene in Ibiza, you’ll enjoy fine food offerings and creative cocktails at Daylight Beach Club. Opening for “sneak preview weekends” on March 21 – 23 and 28 – 30, the dayclub’s rotating cast of A-list DJs – including Nicky Romero, Alesso, Otto Knows, Sultan + Ned Shepard and more – won’t be appearing until April, but there’ll still be great music booming from the magnificent sound system.

I’m a Las Vegas native. By profession, I write at Mostly about the city’s hotels, but on other topics – gaming and transportation – too. I really love staying at hotels. And the ones here are among the biggest and best in the world. Some key things I’ve learned: Resort fees are inescapable (frustrating but true), a friendly attitude at the front desk may score you a great view and over-the-top room amenities – bath butlers, Japanese tea service, menus with “intimate” items – do exist. What else should you know about me? Well, I’m comfortable at a blackjack table. And I like eating late-night pancakes in hotel coffee shops. A lot. Follow Renee on Google+.
