Vegas Uncork’d: The Grand Tasting

The Grand Tasting is arguably the most popular event of the Vegas Uncork’d Weekend. Friday night, more than 2,000 people took part in tasting the best offerings from Las Vegas’ finest restaurants.

With a line wrapping around the Appian Way at Caesars Palace and well through the casino, anxious tasters were treated to various wine stations including Chocovine, the new chocolate wine (it tastes a lot like Bailey’s). Stella Artois was also present offering premium brews on tap.

The French came out in full force with Guy Savoy, Hubert Keller, Joël Robuchon, Alain Ducasse all offering dishes while Pierre Gagnaire was on hand to pose for pictures.

Star Chefs Bobby Flay, Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, Rick Moonen, Shawn Mclain and Kerry Simon were serving food in their booths while chatting with excited guests.

Other notable restaurants represented included Switch, Wazuzu, Jean George, Silk Road, Rao’s and Mesa Grill. Bon Appétit’s staff like Executive Chef Cat Cora, Restaurant Editor Andrew Knowlton and Editor-in-Chief Barbara Fairchild mingled with guests while noshing on Rao’s meatballs, Guy Savoy’s artichoke and black truffle soup with toasted brioche and Switch’s steak tartare on crostini.

If you missed the event, you can still taste all the delicious cuisine at restaurants in Las Vegas.
