One of the most popular afternoon events of the Vegas Uncork’d weekend is the All-Star Interactive Luncheon at Encore Las Vegas. Guests of this event got a once-in-a-lifetime experience to cook with three of the top chefs at Wynn Las Vegas: Paul Bartolotta, David Walzog and Alex Stratta.
Walzog’s restaurant, SW Steakhouse, is the popular steakhouse at Wynn overlooking the Lake of Dreams. There is a dining room and full-service patio where you can dine on Walzog’s prime steaks and delicious appetizers. At the luncheon, Walzog showed guests how to make one of his appetizers, a flavorful steak tartare.
Stratta has two restaurants at Wynn. Alex is a French fine dining restaurant with two Michelin stars. Stratta is a more casual lunch and dinner spot serving Italian cuisine like pizzas, pastas and salads. Stratta helped novice cooks make a creamy risotto by teaching them that making risotto is all about good timing.
Bartolotta taught the novice cooks how to cook fish. His restaurant, Bartolotta, Ristorante di Mare, offers an assortment of fish and shellfish flown in daily from the Mediterranean cost. At the luncheon, Bartolotta demystified the art of cooking a whole fish and taught guests how to make a salt crust, bake fish in the oven and filet the whole fish.
