Chinese New Year cuisine in Vegas

Chinese New Year in Vegas has become a major event. After all, a 128-foot dragon (at the Palazzo) isn’t built for just anything. In addition to opulent decorations from hotels like the Palazzo and the Bellagio, the year of the dragon has brought a surge of Chinese New Year menus and special dishes.

Here are some delicious Chinese New Year offerings that are featured this week in Vegas.

at the Palazzo Las Vegas.

Zine Noodles and Dim Sum has a few limited-time offerings to celebrate Chinese New Year. Included are firecracker Manila clams, which represents hidden treasures and prosperity. Lobster is similar to the word for dragon in Chinese and thus, Executive Chef Simon To has created a special dish with live lobster, garlic and a spicy salt.

at The Mirage.

Fin at the Mirage offers special Chinese dishes to celebrate the New Year this week.

Beijing Noodle No. 9
at Caesars Palace.

The bright white restaurant at Caesars Palace offers a special New Year menu that includes a braised seafood platter for good luck and various other dishes that bring luck and wealth to those who dine.

at the Bellagio.

Jasmine offers a special dim sum lunch, 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. in addition to regular dinner service. Dim sum will be served now through Jan. 29.

Ming’s Table
at Harrah’s Las Vegas.

Ming’s Table offers guests a chance to dine on a whole live fresh fish, symbolizing wealth and prosperity.

at Aria Las Vegas.

Blossom features a special dim sum lunch, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. as well as special dinner options, nightly from Jan. 20 – Feb. 1.

Dragon Noodle Co. & Sushi Bar
at Monte Carlo.

Dragon Noodle Co. & Sushi Bar offers a special $29 prix-fixe menu for lunch or dinner to celebrate the new year.

Rice & Co.
at Luxor.

Rice & Co. is offering a prix-fixe menu to celebrate the new year. The menu will be offered now through Feb. 9 and is $65.

Empress Court
at Caesars Palace.

For a special treat. Try the Empress Court New Year menu, featuring two prix fixe menus to choose from. Each menu  is based on a party of 10. The menus are featured at $1,280 and $1,080, and each have 10 dishes including samples like lobster salad, baby squab and a fruit platter for dessert.

at MGM Grand.

Pearl offers a special dim sum lunch and a special Chinese menu now through Jan. 30.
