You call the shots

Ever wanted to know what it feels like to be a basketball referee but didn’t want the intense pressure that comes along with it?

At Planet Hollywood’s Hoop Hall Experience, you can metaphorically don the black-and-white striped shirt. At HHX, you’ll get to participate in interactive displays featuring touch-screen TVs. Here’s your chance to act as ref and call ’em as you see ’em! If you feel a little bit rusty, fear not: Just steps away, there is an interactive display which features basketball trivia.

In addition to these state-of-the-art interactive displays, you can read about the evolution of basketball, see photo gallery of players inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, touch the floor Michael Jordan stood on to take his last shot and even take a shot at the basket yourself. Whatever you decide to do, Hoop Hall Experience allows you to create your own journey. So head over to HHX and give it a shot.

HHX is open daily from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., with last admission at 8 p.m. This exhibit is on display for a limited time only. General admission is $24.50. Seniors, locals, children and those with a military ID get a special discount. HHX is located in the mezzanine level inside Planet Hollywood’s casino area.  For more information about HHX, click here.

Most folks take their Vegas jackpot winnings back home, but my dad decided to stay here instead. That’s how I left Seattle almost 20 years ago. I moved from greenery and rainy days to hot summers, palm trees and desert. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to stick around Vegas. This city just has so much to offer. You don’t even have to be a gambler, bar hopper or an all-night partier. I love Vegas for its awesome vegan-friendly spots, concerts, swanky hotel suites and spas so big, they’re like castles. The pool scene is not too shabby either, which is why I love taking stay-cations. Besides living it up -- Vegas style -- I’m hanging out with my handsome hubby, adorable baby girl, two cats and super-fluffy Shih-Tzu. I’m also a huge fan of '90s music, shows and movies. You can find me on Google+ and Twitter.
