Get ‘Tanked’ at the Bellagio Conservatory’s new summer exhibit
Close your eyes, now picture yourself with an ice-cold Mai Tai in your hand and the warm salty breeze on your face. You’re surrounded by tropical fish, seahorses, dolphins and vibrant coral as far as the eye can see… and you’re in the friggin’ desert. If you geeked out over last summer’s Bellagio Conservatory display, you’re going to love what they’ve done with the place this season.
This summer, the conservatory geniuses paired up with reality TV stars from the Las Vegas-based show “Tanked” on Animal Planet. Wayde King and Brett Raymer own and operate Acrylic Tank Manufacturing, which happens to be one of the largest (and coolest) aquarium manufactures in the good ole U.S. of A. What transpired is a match made in aquatic paradise.
The duo is known for their over-the-top designs and they brought their A-game to the Conservatory’s already mega-impressive exhibit. The West Bed is now home to the new 1,500 gallon walk-through aquarium. If you’re thinking this has all the awesomeness of Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef, you’d be right. Our Vegas Insiders spotted Shark Reef’s aquatic team at the install making sure everything was A-OK with the fishies.
From the seashell-clad mermaid perched on ancient ruins, to the suspended wiggly jellyfish and scuba divers, each flower bed features its own vibrant depiction of marine life. We may be biased, but this is one of our favorite themes the Bellagio has ever designed so do yourself a favor and check it out.
The free summer exhibit will be on display from now until September 10, 2016. See more Vegas attractions.
