Must dos this weekend in Vegas: July 30 – Aug. 1, 2015

July is coming to an end and August is coming in hot… literally. We are entering yet another month of summer heat and if Vegas weren’t well, Vegas, we would definitely be complaining by now. However, here in Sin City when life gets hotter than David Beckham, we bust out the blender and beat the heat poolside… life’s not that rough. But for those of you visiting who haven’t quite mastered how not to perish in the desert, we will get you started with some must do ideas for this weekend in Vegas. Oh, and if all else fails, just casino hop… the A/C is about to become your best friend.

Once that is decided you’ll be headed out for the drive of a lifetime on a real racetrack. Move aside Dale Earnhardt, Jr. For The Record: Baz

What: “For The Record: BAZ

We all know that “A little party never killed nobody,” so hey, come on over to Mandalay Bay and get ready for an epic night with “For The Record: Baz.” A unique, immersive entertainment experience, this musical show was inspired by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s cinematic and musical films “Romeo + Juliet,” “Moulin Rouge” and “The Great Gatsby.” With a roaring six-piece band and a seven-member cast with powerhouse vocals, the show will feature completely original arrangements of hit songs including “Lady Marmalade,” “Kissing You,” “Love Is in the Air,” “Crazy in Love” and many more.
But wait, there’s more. Since the show takes place in LIGHT Nightclub, once the set has been stricken, hang around as the venue morphs into a full-blown nightclub and dance the night away.

Matt Goss

What: Skrillex at XS Nightclub
Where: Wynn Las Vegas
When: Friday, July 31/a>
Just wanna dance? Well, as usual, this is a great weekend to be in Vegas because the one and only Skrillex will be taking the stage at XS Nightclub for an epic concert. Located inside of the prestigious Wynn Hotel and Casino, XS is just as schmancy as its name suggests. As with any concert at XS, we suggest you find your spot on the centrally-located dance floor if you haven’t already reserved your table, that is. But no matter where you find yourself in this upscale nightclub, the most important thing is that you’re ready to party because after all, Skrillex knows a thing or two about “Breakin’ a Sweat.”

Trading one desert for another, I moved to Las Vegas from Arizona nearly three years ago. It was something about the sparkling lights and the all-encompassing entertainment factor that persuaded me to swap cacti for casinos and dry heat for well…even drier heat. And while I do love a good show, I will always keep true to my country girl ways seeing that I am an absolute sucker for a good country concert and will always indulge the opportunity to go out country dancing! But in a city that undoubtedly has some of the world’s best cuisine, a wild assortment of endless experiences, and of course phenomenal shows, Vegas certainly has that unparalleled good time vibe that can make a city slicker out of just about anyone… including myself!
