Coming to Vegas this weekend? You lucked out. Don’t get us wrong. We’re all fans of the crazy Labor Day shenanigans. But since you’re here the week beforehand, you still get to enjoy the Strip without all the madness. From a one-night only burlesque show and an annual Black & White Party to hot headliners and a booze fest, you’re really in for a treat. A sweet, goodbye-to-summer kind of treat.
Summer concerts got us feelin’ hot, hot, hot
Where: Throughout the Strip
When: All weekend
Remember those back-in-the-day essays, “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” we were oh-so-thrilled to write about? Well after you see this concert lineup, you’ll be tempted to whip out the good ol’ notebook paper and pencil – or at least show off your whereabouts on social media.
Miss Jill Scott graces the Brooklyn Bowl stage with her sweet and soulful vibes this Thursday, Aug. 27. The Grammy Award-winning artist is popular for hits including “The Way,” “Golden,” “Gettin’ in the Way,” “Cross My Mind” and “Slowly, Surely.” After four successful albums, Scott released her fifth one, “Woman,” earlier this year. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
While we’re on this smooth R&B kick, Grammy-winning artist Miguel comes to Drai’s Nightclub on Friday, Aug. 28 to promote his latest album, “Wildfire.” Miguel released his 2010 sleeper hit (and album of the same name) “All I Want Is You.” His sophomore album, “Kaleidoscope Dream,” came out in 2012 and had the Grammy Award-winning track, “Adorn,” as well as “Do You…” and “How Many Drinks?” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Aside from hearing his smooth, velvety voice, we’re excited to see his signature pompadour and edgy style in person.
EDM more up your alley? Or having EDC withdrawals? Catch Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party at Encore Beach Club on Friday, Aug. 28. Live performances include Major Lazer, RL Grime and Zeds Dead, to name a few. You can also party with Tiësto at Wet Republic on Saturday, Aug. 29.
These Vegas comedy shows aren’t technically concerts, but the jokes will still be music to your ears. See Daniel Tosh at The Mirage on Friday, Aug. 28 and Saturday, Aug. 29. Keep the laughs going with Andrew Dice Clay at the Hard Rock Hotel, Aug. 28 – 30.

Las Vegas Beer and Barrel Project
Where: Mandalay Bay
When: Friday, Aug. 28 – Sunday, Aug. 30
Summer may soon be over (sad face) but Mandalay Bay makes the most of what we have left of it, including beer by the beach. Presented by Mandalay Bay and Back Bar USA, beer lovers can celebrate with the three-day Las Vegas Beer and Barrel Project from Friday, Aug. 28 – Sunday, Aug. 30.
The weekend-long event kicks off on Friday with a VIP reception and pop-up pub experience at Shanghai Lilly at 7:30 p.m. The event will host various seminars by master brewers from Nevada and around the country.
The headlining event starts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29. Taste from dozens of craft beer and barrel stations with the country’s best beers and award-winning cuisine by Mandalay Bay’s top chefs. But try not to get too hung over: You’ll want to make the “Beer for Breakfast,” on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. Enjoy gourmet bites, pastries, entrées, family-style desserts and – wait for it — even more beer pairings at Fleur by Hubert Keller.
You can get your drink on for $75, which covers all three days, excluding Saturday’s seminars before the main event. Happy sipping!
Where: Lago by Juliano Serrano inside Bellagio
When: This weekend (brunch menu begins Sunday, Aug. 30)
Now you can enjoy lakeside brunch or lunch at Bellagio’s Lago by Julian Serrano while watching the beautiful fountains show. Enjoy a three-course prix-fixe menu for $28, or select dishes à la carte. Certain lunch menu items include lasagna verde, a four-cheese spinach lasagna; polpettone, a panini with house-made meatballs, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella between foccacia bread; and salmone, pistachio-crusted salmon served with grilled tomatoes, rapini and a red wine sauce.
If you’re more in the breakfast mood, brunch is $38 for a three-course feast, beginning this Sunday, Aug. 30. Besides fresh baked cinnamon rolls and other pastries, you can also enjoy raviolone, a pasta pocket filled with truffle ricotta and topped with an egg yolk and summer truffle butter sauce. End it on a sweet note with desserts like tiramisu or Nutella crespelle. We’re drooling. Now…can we get an amen?
