Vegas Weekender: Vegas is starting to heat up

Pack up your sweaters and get ready for some fun in the sun, Vegas style. Relax poolside or spend the afternoon sipping a refreshing cocktail in the warmer weather. If you’re a Sunday partier, Nove Italiano at the Palms adds to the daytime scene with the launch of High Society on April 11. Those ready to party with a splash won’t want to miss world famous DJ Tiesto spinning poolside for the opening of Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria on April 8. When it comes to live entertainment, guests can laugh the night away with spunky comedian Joan Rivers at the Venetian or experience a night of greatest hits with Cher at Caesars Palace or Barry Manilow at Paris Las Vegas.

Schmooze for booze with singles at the M

“As Single As I Wanna Be” is back Saturday nights at 8 at Hostile Grape inside M Resort. On April 10, the theme is “Schmooze for Booze.” Guests who show their business card get a free bottle of wine (while supplies last). Admission is $20 and includes: choice of two signature drinks or $20 wine card for the 12 Enomatic wine dispensing systems; a chocolate fountain with your choise of strawberries, marshmallows and more; and live entertainment.

DJ Tiesto turns the beat around poolside for the grand opening of Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria at 11 a.m. April 8. Presented by Light Group, the 16,000-square-foot Liquid is the newest pool club on the Strip. Hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Thu. – Sun., for guests 21 and over.

Enjoy the finer things in life at Azure

The Palazzo brings the French Riviera to the Strip with Azure. Guests are treated like royalty with frozen grapes, chilled towels, poolside cabana massages, cuisine from Wolfgang Puck, Evian water mistings and sunscreen application. Relax poolside from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Fri. – Sun., for guests 21 and over.

Be High Society with a view from above

Lift your spirits with High Society at 1 p.m. Sundays at Nove Italiano atop the Palms’ sky-scraping 51st floor. Presented by N9NE Group, this $30 afternoon fiesta features brunch, live entertainment including music by resident DJs Zen Freeman and Mark Stylz and a chic atmosphere.

Tequila tasting and signature tacos

Located at the Fashion Show Mall, El Segundo Sol is the Strip’s newest Mexican eatery featuring a modernized Mexico experience. Along with their signature tacos, the restaurant is home to a tequila tasting room featuring almost 100 varieties of tequila. Restaurant hours are: 11:30 a.m. – midnight Mon. – Sat. and 11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sun.

Chill out with a cool drink at Rhumbar

The weather might be heating up, but Rhumbar at Mirage is keeping things cool with their refreshing specialty cocktail “The Cooler.” A fusion of fresh grapefruit, orange, lime and a hint of mint combined with rum, a splash of Sprite and a dash of rock candy, guests can enjoy the $12 drink on a 3,000-square-foot patio overlooking the Strip.
