Vegas Weekender: The Hot Dog Days of Summer

It’s another wild and hot weekend in Vegas. Aug. 27 marks National Hot Dog Day, and PBR Rock Bar & Grill is hosting a celebration. UFC fans can check out all the UFC 134 action with viewing parties at Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub and Cabo Wabo Cantina on Aug. 27. This is also Rod Stewart’s opening weekend at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. In additiona to this, headliners including Young Jeezy, David Spade, Sugarland and even Butthole Surfers area performing. You can do it all this weekend in Vegas.

Hot Dog Days of Summer
Aug. 27 is National Hot Dog Day. To honor the all-American comfort food, PBR Rock Bar & Grill at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood is offering guests $3 draft beers with the purchase of a specialty hot dog.

Fight Night
Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub, the only ultra-dive bar on the Las Vegas Strip is hosting a UFC 134 viewing party on Aug.

27 starting at 5 p.m. This exciting matchup features American fighters Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami. Fight packages range from $25 to $80 and patrons can receive bottomless beer choices, an open bar throughout the fight and the opportunity to enjoy the fight shown on Rockhouse’s 28 high-definition television screens throughout the bar.

Cabo Wabo Cantina at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood is also getting in on the UFC 134 action by hosting a viewing party on Aug. 27 starting at 5 p.m. Admission is $20 and includes access to Cabo Wabo’s viewing party where UFC enthusiasts can enjoy the main fight and all the other main card bouts. The fight will be shown on multiple high-definition TV screens located throughout the restaurant including two digital screens located on the restaurant’s upper level. Guests can watch the fights and enjoy refreshing margaritas and tasty Mexican fare.

Nightlife
Cirque De Stylez with the Danseurs Rythme get the party started Aug. 26 for Clash, the weekly Friday night party at Rain at the Palms. Doors open at 10 p.m.

World-renowned DJ ATB hosts a party for the masses on Aug. 27 at Marquee at the Cosmopolitan. Doors open at 9 p.m.

DJ Jazzy Jeff spins hip-hop hits on Aug. 27 at Moon/Playboy Club at The Palms. Doors open at 11 p.m.

“Hawaii 5-0” and “Entourage,” actor Scott Caan celebrates his birthday and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland performs on Aug. 27 at Chateau at Paris Las Vegas. Doors open at 10 p.m.

On Aug. 27 special guests DJs Kyau & Albert spin for Perfecto at Rain at the Palms. Doors open at 10 p.m.

It’s ’80s night every Sunday at VooDoo Lounge at the Rio with Solid Gold Sundays featuring the best of ’80s music inside and mash-ups on the outside patio 51 stories up. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Shows
Get a taste of a more sensuous side of reality with Cirque du Soleil’s “Zumanity.” This cabaret-style spectacular has an array of unique characters whose performances are each themed by different elements of sexuality. See it at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Fri. – Tue. at New York-New York.

One of the most exciting merchants of cool to emerge in years, Young Jeezy gets his swag on in Vegas at his 9 p.m. show on Aug. 26 at the Palms.

David Spade is known for his sarcastic, sharp-tongued brand of humor, and he delivers that famous wit in his stand-up act at 9 p.m. on Aug. 26 – 27 at the Venetian.

Watch Rod Stewart perform “Maggie May,” “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” and other of his greatest hits live in Vegas at his 7:30 p.m. show on Aug. 27 – 28 at Caesars Palace.

Attracting fans of hardcore punk, grunge and alternative rock, Butthole Surfers gained a mass following during the past three decades. Watch them rock out in Vegas at their 9 p.m. show on Aug. 28 at the Palms.

Country star Phil Vassar brings his greatest hits to Mandalay Beach at Mandalay Bay at his 9 p.m. show on Aug. 26.

Sugarland, the Grammy Award-winning country music duo, perform their hit singles “All I Want to Do,” “Stay,” “Already Gone” and more at their 8 p.m. show on Aug. 27 at Mandalay Bay.

Jazz singer Jack Jones delights fans with his incredible voice at his 7:30 p.m. show on Aug. 27 – 28 at South Point.
