Vegas Weekender: It’s all action in Vegas

This weekend in Vegas March Madness is in full swing along with pool parties and, of course, the city’s always wild nightlife scene. When it comes to live entertainment, this weekend’s line-up is big on comedy with Whoopi Goldberg performing at Treasure Island on March 25 and Ray Romano performing at the Mirage on March 25 – 26. If you’re looking for big names in music, this weekend it’s all about the ladies with Lady Gaga at MGM Grand on March 25, Celine Dion at Caesars Palace on March 25 – 26 and Gretchen Wilson at Eastside Cannery on March 26. The weather is heating up in Vegas along with all the action.

Fight Night

On March 26 at 6 p.m. Cabo Wabo Cantina hosts the UFC Fight Night live from Seattle. Guests can watch the exciting match up between light heavyweight fighters Antonia Rogerio Nogueira and Phil Davis broadcast on multiple high-definition TV screens located throughout the restaurant and bar. Admission is free and includes access to the viewing party where you can see the fight while enjoying Mexican fare and tasty margaritas that pack a punch. Doors open at 5 p.m. and include the showing of all matches leading up to the main event.

Pool Partykendra

On March 26 star of “Kendra” and former “Girl Next Door” Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett celebrates the start of season four of her hit reality show by partying poolside at Wet Republic at the MGM Grand pool.

Nightlife

Special guest Lil Jon gets the party started March 25 at Surrender at Encore.

Little Monsters everywhere won’t want to miss Gaga Wars on March 25 at Jet at the Mirage. This outrageous contest invites everyone to dress in their best Lady Gaga costume or outfit to compete for a $2,000 prize. Doors open at 8 p.m.

On March 26 Vannessa Hudgens of “High School Musical” and “Beastly” celebrates the release of her new film “Sucker Punch” with a party at Pure inside Caesars Palace.

Wyclef Jean treats partiers to a special performance on March 26 inside Haze at Aria. Doors open at 8:30 p.m.

March Madness

Fremont Street Experience is getting in on the March Madness action by hosting the world’s largest NCAA bracket on the 1,500-foot-long Viva Vison screen, which will be updated daily throughout the NCAA tournament. Fremont Street’s March Hoops event will be ongoing through March 30. In the evening basketball fans can rock out to two sexy stage shows — the Hardwood Hotties and Dream Team Divas. Performing on the First Street Stage are the Hardwood Hotties featuring four dancers, singers and a silk act that perform to songs including AC/DC’s “Shook Me All Night Long” and Katy Perry’s “Firework.” The Dream Team Divas performs on the Third Street stage and features a troupe of singers and dancers who perform top radio music hits. The schedule is as follows: Hardwood Hotties 8:10, 9:10 and 10:10 p.m. Wed. – Mon.; Dream Team Divas 9:10, 10:10 and 11:10 p.m. Tue. – Thu.

Shows

She’s made headlines around the world now Lady Gaga is bringing her Monster Ball Tour to Vegas at 8 p.m. on March 25 at MGM Grand. Combining theatrics and over-the-top production elements that only Gaga could pull off, fans everywhere won’t want to miss this show.

Toby Allen, Phil Burton, Andrew Tierney and Michael Tierney perform Motown’s greatest hits in “Smokey Robinson Presents Australia’s Human Nature – The Ultimate Celebration of Motown.” Hear them perform “The Tracks of My Tears,” “Stop In the Name of Love” and other music hits at 7:30 p.m. Sat. – Wed. at the Imperial Palace.

Watch ska punk band Reel Big Fish “Sell Out” at 6 p.m. on March 25 at Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip.

You’ve seen her as a moderator on “The View” and in countless films, and now you can see actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg live in Vegas at her 8 p.m. show on March 25 at Treasure Island.

Funny man Ray Romano proves that there’s still plenty to love at his 10 p.m. show March 25 – 26 at the Mirage.

Known as “The Modern Day Nostradamus” Psychic Gary Spivey keeps audiences on the edge of their seats with his uncanny ability to foresee the future at his 7 p.m. show on March 25 at Palms.

International superstar Celine Dion is back in Vegas and better than ever in her new 7:30 p.m. show at Caesars Palace March 25 – 26.copperfield

Master magician David Copperfield brings his larger-than-life illusions to the intimate Hollywood Theater at MGM Grand. See him on March 24 – April 29 at 7:30 and 10 p.m. nightly; plus 4:30 p.m. Sat.

Country music superstar Gretchen Wilson is a real “Redneck Woman.” Watch Wislon perform her hard-rockin’ hits live at her 9 p.m. show on March 26 at the Eastide Cannery.

Comedian Steven Wright keeps audiences laughing with his siganture deadpan delivery. See the wiry comedian live at his 8 p.m. show on March 26 – 27 at the Orleans.

Known for their ’90s music hits including “Walk on the Ocean,” “All I Want” and “Something’s Always Wrong,” Toad the Wet Sprocket bring their alternative rock jams to the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa at their 9 p.m. show on March 26.

Experience Pink Floyd’s legendary album, “Animals,” performed live in its entirety at The Pink Floyd Experience at 9 p.m. on March 27 at the House of Blues. The show features a spectacular light and video display and six talented musicians.
