Attractions

Get ready to jump

skyjumpvdcDo something really daring this weekend. Try the latest Stratosphere attraction, SkyJump Las Vegas and get the thrill of a lifetime. Described as a “controlled free fall,” this vertical zip line ride is one you won’t want to miss. Riders descend 855 feet from the top of the Stratosphere tower to the ground. That’s more than 100 stories!

While the ride may sound intimidating, SkyJump is definitely worth the try. Guide wires keep you from straying off course. In addition, the ride slows down early enough for you to land safely (and smoothly) on the ground. Plus, how many people can say they jumped from one of the tallest buildings in the country? Rides are $99.99. Hours are noon – 7 p.m., daily. Starting May 21, hours are 10 a.m. – 1 a.m., Sunday to Thursday and 10 a.m. – 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday (weather permitting).

Nightlife

Show off your drinking skills at McFadden’s

For those with the ability to flip perfectly and chug rapidly, McFadden’s holds a flip cup tournament this Thursday, April 29. Teams of five players can begin signing up at 10 p.m. The entry fee is $25 per team. The tournament kicks off at 11 p.m. Pitchers of Coors Light will be available for $5, along with $5 you-call-it bomb shots. As a preliminary warm-up, all ladies drink for free from 10 until 11 p.m.

Spring “Broke?”

Are you a college student who’s short on cash but wants to go all out in Vegas? Don’t fret – we’ve got
you covered. Rockhouse Bar and Nightclub  at Imperial Palace offers weekday specials including two-for-1 $5 canned beers and $5 Cuervo margaritas and Jager bombs.

Every Thursday, the club hosts “Schoolgirl’s Night Out,” where ladies receive complimentary admission
and free drinks from 10:30 p.m. – midnight.

If you’re the king (or queen) of beer pong, show off your skills during the weekend beer pong competitions. These college beer pong competitions happen every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. And as long as you’re a student, everyone makes the VIP Dean’s List with a student ID. This includes complimentary admission any night of the week before 10 p.m.

These specials only last until Memorial Day weekend.
