Vegas Weekender: Bull riders and ghouls take over Vegas

With everything from the Professional Bull Riders World Finals to an Italian festival going on, this weekend in Vegas has something for everyone. It’s also the last weekend before Halloween and the city is celebrating with various haunted attractions and frighteningly fun ways to get into the Halloween spirit.

Nightlife

Dance until the sun comes up at Aoki’s House featuring Steve Aoki Oct. 22 at Surrender at Encore. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Guest DJ Jesse Marco spins at Pure Nightclub at Caesars Palace on Oct. 23. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Throughout the month of October, Rock & Rita’s at Circus Circus is celebrating the Halloween spirit with a splash. Their world-class flair bartenders are performing shows set to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Guests can indulge in a specially-concocted cocktail “The Thriller” featuring among other chilling ingredients vodka, red vermouth and blood orange marmalade.

Italian Festival

Enjoy a day of Italian delights, live entertainment and fun for the entire family as M Resort, Spa and Casino hosts their second annual Italian festival on Oct. 23 – 24 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Located poolside at Villaggio Del Sol, the festival features authentic Italian dishes, live entertainment and contest favorites including spaghetti eating and grape stomping.

Haunted Attractions

The five-acre haunted theme park Fright Dome at Circus Circus is sure to fright and delight with their five haunted houses including two new horror movie-themed haunted houses based on “SAW” and “My Bloody Valentine.” Fright Dome also features multiple scare zones, amusement rides and live entertainment by some of the world’s most notorious and macabre illusionists. The park operates 7 p.m. – midnight Thu. – Sun. through Oct. 31. This year Circus Circus is also home to the Haunted 13th Floor Tour.

Most people think the 13th floor is bad luck or even a portal to the other side, and this haunted tour featuring 13 rooms of spine-tingling scenes lets brave guests decide for themselves. The tour operates every day from 2 – 10 p.m. now through Oct. 31.

The month-long OktoberFrightFest party on Fremont Street features Viva Vision light and sound shows themed to “Time Warp” and “Monster Mash,” beer gardens featuring seasonal Oktoberfest food and drink specials, free nightly live entertainment by three Halloween-themed stage shows and a haunted house attraction inside Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel.

The Professional Bull Riders World Finals storms its way into Vegas for the championship event Oct. 21 – 24 at the Thomas & Mack Center. Expect edge-of-your-seat action with the best riders and bulls in the world. Event times are 6 p.m. Oct. 21 – 23 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 24.

Shows

Andrew Dice Clay leaves audiences laughing in the aisles with his naughty nursery rhymes at his 9 p.m. show Oct. 21 – 24, 28 – 31 at Las Vegas Hilton.

Comedian Vinnie Favorito makes audience members the subject of many of his jokes when he performs nightly at 8 p.m. at the Flamingo.

Master magician David Copperfield astounds audiences at his show at 7:30 and 10 p.m. nightly; plus 4:30 p.m. Sat. on Oct. 21 – Nov. 3 at MGM Grand.
Singer Sheena Easton is “For Your Eyes Only” at her 7:30 p.m. show Oct. 22 – 23 at South Point.

Indie rockers Interpol delight fans with music hits from their fourth, self-titled album at their 8 p.m. show on Oct. 22 at Hard Rock Hotel.

The Osmonds treat fans to a night of their greatest hits at their 8 p.m. show on Oct. 22 – 24 at Orleans.

Daughtry brings their string of hit songs to the stage at their 9 p.m. show on Oct. 22 at Mandalay Bay.

Barry Manilow performs his biggest hits in his show at 7:30 p.m. Fri. – Sun. on Oct. 22 – 24 at Paris Las Vegas.

Lewis Black amuses fans with his witty commentary at his 10 p.m. show on Oct. 22 – 23 at Mirage.

Calling all Parrot Heads. Jimmy Buffet & The Coral Reefer Band are sharing their tropical paradise with fans in Vegas at his 8 p.m. show on Oct. 23 at MGM Grand.
Fans get to see Cher perform her greatest music hits in her show at 7:30 p.m. Tue. – Wed., Sat. – Sun. on Oct. 23 – 31 at Caesars Palace.

Vince Gill shares his repertoire of hit songs with audiences in Vegas at his 8 p.m. show on Oct. 23 at Las Vegas Hilton.

Vampire and horror movie fans won’t want to miss Corey Feldman’s Lost Boys Ball featuring a performance by his band Truth Movement and a special screening of the original “Lost Boys” film starting at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 at House of Blues.
It’s excitement all around when Widespread Panic comes to town. See them perform live at their 8 p.m. show on Oct. 23 at Hard Rock Hotel.

Colbie Caillat treats fans to a night of music under the stars with her 8 p.m. show on Oct. 23 at Mandalay Beach.
