The Shops at Cosmopolitan combines fun with luxury

You’re on vacation in Vegas. Besides eating and partying the night away, what is one of the other things you must do while you’re here? You guessed it – shopping! So why not turn it into a luxurious experience?

Located on the second floor, The Shops at Cosmopolitan is the newest addition to the Strip and it’s a definite must-see. Yesterday we had a chance to take a sneak peek at the hotel before it opened to the public, so instantly I felt like a celebrity.

These earrings can found at Beckley inside The Shops at Cosmopolitan.

Inside Beckley, I had the chance to try on $200 black and gold dangly earrings that I’m seriously adding to my wish list. I kind of wish I wore my hair differently and wore a black dress to match, but just the fact the staff let me try them on was awesome enough. Beckley had an adorable black ruffled dress that would have gone perfect with the earrings. Sure it was priced at $950, but hey you only live once, right?

If that’s a little out of your budget, Skin 6|2 Cosmetics offers a slew of health and beauty products that won’t burn a hole through your wallet. The packaging style for a lot of these products is reminiscent of the early 1900s, making it tempting to buy these solely as collectibles. The prices are reasonable, too: I tried on a berry-colored lip plumping gloss that was just over $20. In addition to lip gloss, Skin 62 also offers candles, soaps, perfume and more.

Popular with celebrities and urban fashion aficionados alike, CRSVR offers casual threads and sneakers that’ll definitely turn some heads.

It may be a bit early to think of summer, but you might as well snag a bikini or two to motivate yourself to get that body back in shape. For me, seeing the live beautiful bikini models was inspiration enough! Molly Brown’s Swimwear has plenty of one-piece and two-piece items in all sorts of styles and colors. There’s something in here for everyone.

While you’re here, don’t forget to stop by the café and grab a cannoli or two, which I believe are the best in town. And aside from all the shopping, you’ve got to check out the hotel. The stunning chandeliers and sophisticated (but not stuffy) atmosphere will make the Cosmopolitan one of your top must-see’s, must-do’s when you come into town. Plus, after you’re done with all the shopping, the bars and restaurants are just an escalator and a few steps away.

Most folks take their Vegas jackpot winnings back home, but my dad decided to stay here instead. That’s how I left Seattle almost 20 years ago. I moved from greenery and rainy days to hot summers, palm trees and desert. As much as I love my hometown, I decided to stick around Vegas. This city just has so much to offer. You don’t even have to be a gambler, bar hopper or an all-night partier. I love Vegas for its awesome vegan-friendly spots, concerts, swanky hotel suites and spas so big, they’re like castles. The pool scene is not too shabby either, which is why I love taking stay-cations. Besides living it up -- Vegas style -- I’m hanging out with my adorable baby girl, two cats and super-fluffy Shih-Tzu. I’m also a huge fan of '90s music, shows and movies. You can find me on Google+ and Twitter.
