Unless you are in town for an AA convention, chances are you’ll be drinking a lot during your stay in Vegas. Alcohol is served not just by the glass but by the tumbler — which you can carry hanging from your neck. Given this fact, I would like to let you in on some secrets that may lessen your chances of a nasty hangover. I myself have found some of them remarkably effective.

1.    Drink less. If you can’t (or won’t), keep on reading.

2.    Drink as much water or fruit juice as you can – your body needs to stay hydrated. On the same note, avoid any drinks with caffeine, which is a dehydrator.

3.    Red wine can give many people headaches because of the tannins it contains. The best choices to avoid headaches are beer, white wine and clear liquors like vodka, tequila and gin.

4.    Don’t drink different types of alcoholic drinks.

5.    While you drink, eat greasy food (grease or fat slows alcohol absorption).

6.    Take a vitamin B12 before your drinking session.

If you do get a headache the next morning, avoid pain killers

with acetaminophen, because alcohol can disrupt how your liver processes it.

1.    Bebe menos: si no puedes –o no quieres parar– sigue leyendo.
