You mastered the DJ Hero video game and pinched enough pennies to buy your first set of turntables. It was a used set but after enough practices you managed to get a few gigs: bar mitzvah, sweet-16 parties and proms.
Before you know it, your local dive nightclub gave you chance to spin in front of people who wouldn’t hesitate to boo you out of the booth if your mixes didn’t jibe. Your next obvious step is to head to Las Vegas and camp out in front of the plethora of nightclubs and bars until you land a chance.
If only there was another way.
Actually, there is. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has teamed up with Indabamusic.com and several of Vegas’ elite mix masters to present the Vegas Spin Off competition. Unfortunately, the cutoff for the contest is Thursday but seven lucky DJs will be chosen for a spin off at a yet-to-be-named Vegas hotspot.
The top seven DJs will then spin off for a chance to appear as a guest DJ at unnamed Vegas nightclub, a $10,000 in-home recording studio and $1,500 in PUMA footwear, apparel and accessories.
The live performances will be filmed and then judged by a celebrity panel including Lil Jon, LMFAO, DJ Vice, Markus Schulz and Sol Shafer.
