A lot goes on during fall – more than just the new TV season, which is why many of Las Vegas’ dining and nightlife venues serve up some cool new drinks. This varied selection marks the special occasions of the season.
Tabú, the boutique nightclub at the MGM Grand, is serving some scary-good cocktails for a ghastly time. These are available through Halloween.
Devil’s Reject ($12): Sweet and refreshing, this drink is made of 1 ½ ounces Ambhar Tequila, ½ ounce Grand Marnier, ½ ounce lemon juice, ½ ounce lime juice, 1 ounce pomegranate juice and 2 ounces pineapple juice, shaken and strained into a snifter. The drink is finished with a float of ginger ale.
Gravedigger ($12): Another sweet libation, the Gravedigger has ¾ ounce Bacardi Orange Rum, ¾ ounce Malibu Rum, ¾ ounce Myers Dark Rum, 3 ounces of orange juice and ½ ounce lemon juice in a shaker. The beverage is strained and topped with pomegranate juice.
Black Magic Martini ($12): Perfect for coffee-lovers, this martini has 1 ½ ounces Vanilla Vodka and 1 ½ ounces Patrón XO coffee liqueur. Served in a martini glass and garnished with a cherry.
Starbucks’ uber-popular Pumpkin Spice Latte has some competition: Tender Steak and Seafood at the Luxor is debuting its Pumpkin Pie Martini. This martini mixes Hiram Walker Pumpkin Spice Liqueur, Captain Morgan rum, vanilla vodka, pumpkin pie mix, half and half and simple syrup and is available for $12. It will be available throughout the fall and winter seasons.
The Mirage is getting in on election season mania by featuring four special cocktails through Election Day, at Kokomo’s, Onda Ristorante and Wine Lounge and the Race & Sports Bar for $12 each.
Enjoy the Obamarita, a tequila-based cocktail combining Cazadores Reposado tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and agave nectar to make a sweet and tangy citrus-based concoction. The Mittini is a flavor-infused take on the classic martini made with Grey Goose Cherry Noir vodka, Benedictine Liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup and a dash of bitters.
The BidenBerry combines Bacardi Wolfberry, St. Germaine Elderflower, fresh lemon sour and sparkling wine for a lightly carbonated cocktail packed with berry flavor. Finally, the Paulitan features Grey Goose L’Orange, Cointreau and cranberry juice with a squeeze of lime and boasts only 118 calories.
