Top 10 dining deals in Vegas: Great meals from $10 – $100

There are lots of restaurants in Vegas. There are also countless dishes in restaurants in Vegas. So when faced with the task of where to dine, it usually comes down to value — how much you’re willing to spend and what you get for the money.

Don’t worry, here’s a cheat sheet, if you will, on some of the best deals in town — and the level of cuisine might just surprise you. For instance, Rob Moore is the executive chef of Jean Georges, the fine-dining steakhouse in Aria. But, on his day off he’ll eat at Jenni Pho, a local noodle shop where the average price is $8 a bowl. Moore’s high-end dining option, L’Atelier, makes our list, along with nine other deals for any budget in Vegas.

10. Jean Georges Steakhouse, $69 three-course prix fixe menu.

Long live the early bird special. But this isn’t any bird — try organic fried chicken with buttery hot sauce. Oh yeah.

At Jean Georges Steakhouse, Moore offers a $69 early evening menu from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. that’s big on flavor, but at a great deal. The three-course menu includes appetizers like Burrata mozzarella and butternut squash soup, entrées like a 12-ounce New York Steak or 8-ounce filet mignon, and desserts like warm apple cobbler with cinnamon ice cream.

9. L’Atelier, L’Unique, $59.

Available until 6:15 p.m., the L’Unique menu at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand includes an appetizer, main course and dessert, served within 15 minutes. You can choose from options like kampachi carpaccio,  seafood soup or beef carpacio.

8. Monta, average price, $7 per bowl.

Monta, located in Chinatown on Spring Mountain Road, isn’t a fancy place. The restaurant has about seven tables, a small counter and ramen noodles — lots and lots of ramen. With the average price being $7 per bowl of delicious noodles, you can have a complete meal for under $10.

7. Charlie Palmer Steak, Cut of the Week, $48.

The “Cut of the Week” menu at Charlie Palmer Steak at the Four Seasons is one of the best values in town. The three-course menu changes weekly, and includes an appetizer, entrée with sides, dessert and bottomless wine pairings, making it one of the best deals in town.

6. Circo, Three-course menu, $49.

Circo is a highly regarded restaurant in Bellagio from the Maccioni family. This three-course meal features beef carpaccio, salmon, quail and panna cotta as menu items. The pre-theater menu is served until 6:45 p.m.

5. Border Grill, three courses, $42.

To sample some of Border Grill’s delicious Mexican cuisine, try The Ultimate Border Grill Experience, a tasting of appetizers, an entrée of your choice and a dessert. The menu includes options like Yucatan pork, roasted potato rajas relleno and Kobe beef tacos. The restaurant is located inside Mandalay Bay.

4.  Comme Ça Lunch, $30.

When I go to lunch, rarely does it consist of house-cured salmon tartare and a duck confit cinnamon roll — yet another reason I’m glad I’m in Vegas. Just beyond my chain sandwich shop is Comme Ça at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The three-course prix fixe menu includes both dishes above, as well as other selections like croque madame, quiche, steak frites and profiteroles. Lunch is served Fri. – Sun., noon – 5 p.m.

3. BarMasa $49 early evening menu.

BarMasa cuisine is truly exceptional, which could be why the median price range for a sushi roll is $29. But the early evening menu at BarMasa at Aria is a truly great value. A bento box filled with delights like shishito peppers, wakame and cucumber salad, nasu miso, a Kobe beef skewer, four pieces of sushi rolls and three slices of sashimi, all served together.

2.  Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro, $21 for three-course lunch, $42 for three-course dinner.

Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro at Caesars Palace is best known for exceptional pastries, chocolates and other sweet treats. But the bistro also has a great savory food options.

Payard’s prix fixe lunch menu is short and to the point. A choice of two appetizers (artichoke dip or shrimp panzanella) and two entrées (fish of the day or rousted Cornish hen) comprise this menu, a long with a daily dessert. For dinner, you can choose anything on the menu, such as the Payard cheese soufflé, onion soup, braised lamb shank or short ribs in red wine sauce.

1.  Estiatorio Milos, the lunch special, $20.12.

Authentic Greek seafood, imported fresh, isn’t cheap. So normally, a full dinner at Milos at The Cosmopolitan runs at least $100 per person. However, lunch at Milos is considerably less expensive — $20.12 for a three-course meal with many options that also appear on the dinner menu.

The Greek Meze plate, a tomato salad, or scallops are choices for your first course.  My favorite entrée is the lavraki, or grilled Mediterranean bass. However, other options include fresh shrimp saganaki with tomato and feta, chicken brochette and a lamb chop with fries and asparagus. For dessert, the walnut pie, which is more of a moist spice cake, is a perfect way to end the meal.
