Can you guess who’s coming to the Viva Vision canopy in downtown Las Vegas?

No, silly, not The Guess Who.

Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Who and Jeff Victor, president of Fremont Street Experience announce The band’s new Viva Vision show.

The Who!

The iconic rock band’s lead singer Roger Daltrey and Fremont Street Experience President Jeff Victor announced this week that The Who will be getting its own light and sound show on the 1,500-foot-long LED canopy 90 feet above Fremont Street this fall.

The seven-minute show, entitled “The Who – Miles Over Vegas,” will feature colorful 3D graphics including vintage footage and three songs: “My Generation,” “I Can See for Miles” and “Pinball Wizard.”

“It’s quite exciting to get our own Viva Vision show,” said Daltrey during the press conference.

“The Who – Miles Over Vegas” joins other legendary rock bands including “Bon Jovi – Wanted in Vegas,” “A Tribute to Queen,” “The Doors – Strange Days in Vegas” and “Heart – Crazy on Vegas.”

Yes, I’m from Las Vegas. But I’d like to clarify a few things: I don’t live in a hotel and I’m not a showgirl. I put my pasties on one nipple at a time, just like everyone else. I’m a regular girl who plunges off the side of ridiculously tall Las Vegas landmarks and writes about it for a living. I also ride roller coasters, hang at the spa, shoot holes in zombies and take art lessons from bottlenose dolphins. You know, normal stuff. My career as a journalist and copywriter has led me out of Vegas and around the world, but the 24/7 normality of Las Vegas sucks me back in every time. Am I oblivious to the plethora of slot machines everywhere I go? Sure. But that’s because I’m distracted by all the pretty lights. Follow me on Google+ and Twitter.
